CATBALOGAN CITY – The Samar Provincial Hospital (SPH) officially joined the Samar Police Provincial Office (SPPO) in launching the 30th Police Community Relations (PCR) Month on July 1, 2025.
The ceremony, held at the SPPO headquarters, celebrated the ongoing partnership between two vital institutions – healthcare workers and the police – in promoting safety, welfare, and public health for the people of Samar.
The event also highlighted the oathtaking of the Women Support Network (WSN) Project Team, an initiative designed to empower female police officers and strengthen their role in community service, especially in helping vulnerable sectors.
Dr. Jansenn V. Mutya, Chief of the Samar Provincial Hospital and guest speaker, said:
“Protecting our people, ensuring peace, and nation-building are more effective when the police and the community work together. Though our missions may differ, we are united by our shared goal of public service.”
The hospital also recognized the important role of the police during disasters, health crises, and emergencies, which further show the strength of their collaboration.
In his message, PCol. Antonietto Eric A. Mendoza, Provincial Director of SPPO, stated:
“Through programs like the Women Support Network and our ongoing outreach activities, we bring the police closer to the people — and the people closer to peace.”
This strong cooperation between SPH and SPPO is expected to continue, as both institutions commit to better public service, health care, and protection for every Samarnon.
“When healers and heroes unite, there is no limit to what we can achieve for the good of our community,” the hospital affirmed.
