PRO 8 Promotes Nearly 2K Cops in Mass Oath-taking

PALO, Leyte – Police Regional Office 8 (PRO 8) witnessed the oath-taking of 1,958 newly promoted police officers in a ceremony held simultaneously with different Police Offices in Eastern Visayas on Monday, March 25, 2024.

Of these, 125 are Police Commissioned Officers (PCOs) and 1,833 are Police Non-commissioned Officers (PNCOs). Among the PCOs, 8 were promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel; 22 to Major; 29 to Captain; and 66 to Lieutenant. For the PNCOs, 198 were promoted to Executive Master Sergeant; 164 to Chief Master Sergeant; 218 to Senior Master Sergeant; 311 to Master Sergeant; 523 to Staff Sergeant; and 419 to Corporal.

Police B/Gen. Reynaldo Pawid, Regional Director of PRO 8, administered the Oath-Taking, Donning, and Pinning of Ranks Ceremony for 150 personnel from the Regional Headquarters and 185 from the Regional Support Units at the PRO 8 Caboboy Gym, Camp Sec. Ruperto K. Kangleon, Campetik, Palo, Leyte.

These promotions were the result of the PNP uniformed personnel’s merit system, recognizing their years of exemplary service and commitment.

RD PAWID congratulated the newly promoted personnel, reminding them of the increased responsibility and accountability that come with their new ranks. He emphasized the importance of integrity, open communication, and collaboration in the workplace to foster a positive work environment and set an example for the public.

The activity is part of the nationwide conduct of Mass Oath-taking and Donning and Pinning of Ranks of Newly-Promoted Personnel for the 1st Quarter PLTCOL Continuous Promotion Program and CY 2023 2nd Level Regular Promotion Program.
