801st Infantry Brigade gets new chief
CATBALOGAN CITY — The 801st Infantry “Bantay at Gabay” Brigade has a new commander following the formal installation of Colonel Arlino L. Sendaydiego in a change of command ceremony presided over by Major General Adonis Ariel G. Orio, Commander of the 8th Infantry (Stormtroopers) Division.
Col. Sendaydiego officially took over the leadership of the brigade, which plays a crucial role in security and development efforts across Samar and Eastern Samar. He succeeds Brig. Gen. Lenart Lelina, who previously led the unit.
Maj. Gen. Orio, in his remarks, emphasized the importance of continuity in leadership and expressed full confidence in Col. Sendaydiego’s capability to lead the unit effectively. Prior to his new post, Sendaydiego served as Chief of Staff of the 8ID, giving him a strong operational grasp of the division’s mission and challenges.
“Continue to uphold the brigade’s proud name ‘Bantay at Gabay’ for the people of Samar and Eastern Samar,” Orio said. “Lead decisively. Lead with courage. Lead with a heart for the people we are sworn to protect.”
