Unearthed Productions and NTUC LearningHub Sign Partnership Agreement to Elevate AV Standards in Singapore’s Events Industry

Unearthed Productions, NTUC LearningHub (NTUC LHUB), and the Singapore Association of Convention & Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (SACEOS) have signed a Partnership Agreement to jointly deliver a new certification programme designed to raise industry standards and build stronger audio-visual capabilities within Singapore’s MICE and hospitality sectors.

Graduates who successfully complete the course will be awarded a recognised credential — Audio Visual Specialist (AVS) — which they may append to their names and professional titles, similar to the CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) designation.

The Partnership Agreement was signed at CatchUP 2025, the annual industry gathering hosted by Unearthed Productions. This year’s edition also marked the launch of UPGroup Asia, the regional brand under Unearthed Productions, and a new MICE venue search platform for UP-managed venues designed to help clients discover unique event spaces and elevate their AVL (audio, visual, lighting) experiences across the region with integrated event management and production services

The new course, WSQ Fundamentals of Audio, Visual, and Lighting Systems, is now available through NTUC LHUB. Developed in collaboration with trainers from Unearthed Productions and endorsed by SACEOS and the Singapore Tourism Board, the course equips professionals with real-world audio, visual, and lighting (AVL) skills and provides a strong foundation for those working toward the AVS Certification.

Targeted at aspiring and experienced AV technicians, MICE professionals, and hospitality practitioners, the 16-hour course blends theory and hands-on learning using industry-grade equipment. Participants will learn how to inspect, troubleshoot, and operate AV systems in line with safety protocols and client requirements. The course is part of Singapore’s national WSQ framework, with funding support available for eligible trainees.

“We’ve seen firsthand how skilled AV professionals can transform event experiences from good to exceptional. The course uses the latest and actual industry equipment, so participants graduate with the hands-on skills that event organizers genuinely need,” said Adam Piperdy, Founder and Chief Experience Officer of Unearthed Productions.

“We are seeing a demand for AV professionals who can work with the latest technology in Singapore’s growing MICE sector. Working with Unearthed Productions gives us access to current industry practices and real-world insights. This collaboration ensures we are delivering practical, job-ready skills to meet actual market needs,” said Tay Ee Learn, Assistant Chief Executive & Chief Sector Skills Officer of NTUC LearningHub.

“Singapore Tourism Board welcomes this timely collaboration. As business events grow increasingly sophisticated, cutting-edge audio-visual expertise has become essential to delivering world-class experiences. In line with STB’s Tourism 2040 roadmap, the industry-validated AVS certification programme not only builds critical capabilities but also creates promising career pathways in this dynamic field. It also helps to strengthen Singapore’s position as the World’s Best MICE City while offering professionals the opportunity to be part of our thriving business events ecosystem, supporting our long-term vision for sustained growth in MICE tourism,” said Rachel Loh, Executive Director, Hospitality & Tourism Talent, Singapore Tourism Board.

This initiative comes at a pivotal moment when Singapore’s MICE sector demonstrates exceptional growth. The country recently achieved its best-ever position on the ICCA Worldwide City Rankings, placing among the world’s premier business events destinations. With the Singapore Tourism Board targeting a three-fold increase in MICE tourism receipts by 2040, skilled Audio Visual professionals are increasingly critical to capturing this high-value segment.

This certification course directly addresses that need by developing the technical expertise essential for delivering world-class events, reflecting Unearthed Productions’ commitment to pushing industry standards forward through both exceptional event delivery and professional skills development.

Course registration is now open via NTUC LHUB.
