IN FRAMES: PRO-8 director Brig. Gen. Reynaldo Pawid Launches Media Training for Cops

Brigadier General Reynaldo Pawid, director of Police Regional Office-Eastern Visayas (PRO-8) has launched a series of media training for public information officers in the region.

Around 50 police officers joined in the first batch of a journalism and social media workshop at the DILG building in Ormoc City on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.

Regional Public Information Office (RPIO) chief Major Analiza Armeza facilitated the media workshops to capacitate information officers in the region on basic news writing skills, media relations, and social media management.

The event was also attended by Colonel Reydante Ariza, OIC city director of Ormoc City Police Office (OCPO); Lieutenant Colonel Albert Renomeron, chief of Community Affairs Development Unit (CADU), OCPO; and Lieutenant Colonel Edwin Cañamaque, chief of CADU, Tacloban City Police Office.

The resource speakers during the media training were Dr. Ulderico Alviola, head of the Department of Development Communication and the University Integrated Media Center at the Visayas State University, and freelance journalist Ronald Reyes.
