SOLID PARTNERSHIP. Brigadier General Reynaldo Pawid, director of Police Regional Office-Eastern Visayas (PRO-8), welcomed the local media during the Philippine National Police-Media solidarity night, with the theme “Creating Stronger Bonds Towards Improved Policing,” at the PRO-8 Matapat Hall, Camp Sec. Ruperto K. Kangleon in Palo, Leyte on Friday, June 7, 2024.

“This gathering is the perfect opportunity to highlight the critical relationship between the police and the media,” said Pawid during the event, as he assured support to the media practitioners in Eastern Visayas.

In attendance during the event were PRO-8 Press Corps officer, along with the members, headed by Ioannes Paulus Omang, Aksyon Radyo DYVL, President; Rommel Rutor, Aksyon Radyo DYMS, Vice President Internal Affairs; Jade Nombrado, DYDM Maasin City, Vice President, External Affairs; Consuelo Alarcon, Philippine Information Agency-8, Secretary; Justine Traya, RMN Tacloban, Treasurer; Evelyn Baccol, ATV-24 Tacloban, Auditor; and Representatives, Rene Castino, MsFM 105.3 , Samar; Jimmy Angay-angay, Aksyon Radyo DYVL, Leyte; Dhalia Orit, Radyo Pilipinas, Southern Leyte; Wilmark Amazona, Leyte Samar Daily Express/Philippine News Agency, Tacloban City; and Elvie Roa, Philippine News Agency, Ormoc City.

This year’s PRO-8 Public Information Officers include Major Analiza Armeza, Regional Public Information Office-8; Lieutenant Colonel Rommel Cesista, Eastern Samar Police Provincial Office; Captain Mae Ann Erivera, Northern Samar Police Provincial Office; Lieutenant Colonel Ramil Amodia, Ormoc City Police Office; Lieutenant Colonel Mark Nalda, Southern Leyte Police Provincial Office; Lieutenant Colonel Edwin Cañamaque, Tacloban City Police Office; Major Kerwin Sevillano, Biliran Police Provincial Office; Captain Hazel Vacal, Leyte Police Provincial Office; Captain Aileen Velarde, Samar Police Provincial Office; and Lieutenant Pater Church Tuhao; Regional Mobile Force Battalion-8.
