CATBALOGAN CITY — The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Catbalogan City swiftly responded to a call from the Catbalogan National Comprehensive High School’s administrative clerk, Louie Chavez, reporting a massive python discovered in the school canteen’s ceiling around 2:36 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21, in Purok 7, Barangay Mercedes.

After assessing the situation, the firefighters carefully removed the 13-foot Reticulated Python from the ceiling, a process that took several minutes.

Following the successful rescue operation, the python was turned over to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for proper handling.
