Tech Firm Launches YouGuard School System in Mindanao

Tech Firm Launches YouGuard School System in MindanaoYouCode Technologies Corporation, the developer of the innovative YouGuard SMIS platform, has launched a pioneering digital system at the
Misamis Oriental General Comprehensive High School (MOGCHS) in Mindanao, marking a significant stride toward modernizing school administration, data management, and student security.

MOGCHS, one of Region 10’s most prominent public institutions, is now equipped with School Management Information System (SMIS), signalling a major institutional commitment to full digital integration.

Spearheading the event was Principal Melende Catid, alongside the School PTA Officers, led by SPTA Chairman Dr. Bernalyn B. Waggoner, DVM.

The YouGuard SMIS introduces a centralized digital solution that seamlessly integrates key administrative and academic processes, from student enrollment and grade management to report generation and security monitoring.

A highlight of the launch was the demonstration of its enhanced security features: Face Recognition with RFID Card gate access via turnstile.

This system not only streamlines daily attendance logging for students and teachers but also immediately sends SMS notifications to parents upon a student’s entry and exit from campus, significantly boosting security and communication.

Speaking on the company’s commitment, Andrew Combate, CEO of YouCode Technologies, shared the foundation of the partnership.

“Our journey with MOGCHS began not with a product, but with a purpose. A purpose rooted in listening – to the needs of educators, the concerns of parents, and the aspirations of students. We asked: How can technology become a quiet ally in the daily life of a school? Not a burden. Not a distraction. But a source of trust, clarity, and care,” he said.

He was followed by Ronel Boholano, YouCode Technologies Chief Technology Officer, who reinforced the scope of the new system.

“This is not just a system; it is a vision for a smarter, safer, and more efficient school environment. Where every beep of turnstile, every facial scan, and every SMS alert becomes a symbol of care, trust, and progress. We are proud to see MOGCHS become a model, demonstrating that even large public schools in Region 10 can successfully embrace this level of technological advancement,” Boholano added.

The formal event was attended by SPTA MOGCHS Champions, school personnel, local media representatives, parents, faculty members, and students.

Demonstrators from YouCode Technologies provided a comprehensive walk-through of the system’s interface and functionalities, underscoring its dual role in improving administrative efficiency and fostering student-parent engagement.

With the SMIS now fully operational, MOGCHS anticipates smoother cross-departmental coordination, a substantial reduction in paperwork, and quicker access to critical information.

The system is fundamentally designed to enhance communication among teachers, students, and parents, paving the way for a more connected and transparent educational ecosystem.

“This system will enable data-driven decision-making and ensure accountability at every level of our institution,” said Principal Melende Catid.

“It is a proud moment for MOGCHS and a definitive step forward for public education in Misamis Oriental.”

The launch concluded with a live demonstration of the YouGuard SMIS with Turnstile Access Control and Facial Recognition, followed by a ceremonial ribbon-cutting and the signing of the Memorandum of Partnership.

The event was also supported by a representative from DITO Telecommunications.

By adopting this technology, MOGCHS continues to serve as a beacon of progress in Region 10, successfully blending its century-old tradition with innovation to thrive in the digital era.
