CALBAYOG CITY (July 3, 2024) — President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos, Jr.’s visit to Calbayog on July 4 will bring in Php 100 million in financial aid for beneficiaries in the agriculture and fishing sectors, Vice Mayor Rex Daguman announced today.
“This significant amount of money circulating in our local economy will spur an increase in economic activities,” said Vice Mayor Daguman during a press conference this afternoon.
He disclosed that half of the 10,000 beneficiaries of the Presidential Assistance to Farmers, Fisherfolks, and Families (PAFFF) program are from Calbayog.
Vice Mayor Daguman clarified that the PAFFF, funded by the Office of the President, is different from the livelihood assistance that City Mayor Raymund Uy began distributing yesterday.
Mayor Uy and Vice Mayor Daguman are overseeing the city’s preparations for the presidential visit. Daguman also announced that the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Caravan will visit Calbayog in October.
President Marcos is expected to arrive tomorrow to lead the distribution of PAFFF. (Reports by Calbayog City Public Information Office)
