IN FRAMES: Labor Orgs Air Demands For Marcos’ SONA 2024

Labor group Bukluran ng Manggagawang Pilipino (BMP) ramped up their advocacy for economic reforms in the country, calling for a progressive wealth tax and a legislated wage hike of 750 pesos during a workers’ forum at the University of the Philippines Integrated School in Quezon City on June 29, 2024.

The forum, organized in collaboration with the Asian Peoples’ Movement on Debt and Development (APMDD) and Partido Lakas ng Masa (PLM), aimed to galvanize support ahead of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s upcoming State of the Nation Address (SONA) in July.
