DOLE-8 Announces Regional Winners of the 2023 Search for Best PESO

BASEY, Samar, Philippines — Following a comprehensive evaluation and validation process of entries submitted by various field offices on May 30, 2024, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office No. 8 is pleased to announce the regional winners of the 2023 Search for the Best Public Employment Service Office (PESO).

The following PESOs have been recognized for their outstanding performance, dedication, and effectiveness in facilitating employment opportunities within their communities:

PESO Basey (1st Class Municipality)
PESO Province of Northern Samar (2nd Class Province)
PESO Hilongos (2nd-3rd Class Municipality)
PESO Daram (4th-6th Class Municipality)
The evaluation, led by a panel of distinguished validators from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), media practitioners, the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), the Public Employment Service Office Managers Association of Eastern Visayas (PESOMAEV), and the DOLE Regional Office VIII, adhered strictly to established guidelines. These included criteria related to core service delivery, implementation of DOLE programs, and community impact.

Atty. Dax B. Villaruel, OIC-Regional Director of DOLE-8, extended his congratulations to the winners for their exceptional contributions to enhancing employment in the region.

“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the regional winners for their exemplary service and significant contributions to employment facilitation. Their achievements highlight the vital role PESOs play in advancing economic growth and supporting the workforce,” said Villaruel.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to all PESOs and Job Placement Offices (JPOs) that participated in the search, demonstrating their commitment to excellence in public employment services.
