CATBALOGAN CITY – The Catbalogan Virtual Assistants (CatVA) organization hosted a seminar on Sunday, February 9, 2025, designed to help aspiring digital professionals and virtual freelancers navigate the freelancing industry.

The event, which attracted 250 attendees from various barangays in Catbalogan City and nearby towns, highlighted the city’s ongoing efforts to empower individuals, particularly from Gen Z and Millennial groups, with the skills and knowledge necessary for pursuing online careers.
In partnership with IAMMIKA, a non-governmental organization focused on helping individuals set up their own home offices, the seminar featured a lineup of local speakers. One of the key highlights was Miss Marjorie Aviso, founder of TeleWorkPH, who offered inspiring insights and practical advice on how to succeed in the remote work sector.
City Mayor Dexter Uy, who shared the event on his social media account, emphasized that the seminar is part of Catbalogan’s broader initiative to provide valuable resources and opportunities for residents, especially those seeking flexible work arrangements aligned with their career aspirations. This event marks another important step in helping the community thrive in the ever-evolving digital economy. (Ricky Bautista)
