CATBALOGAN CITY — In a successful endeavor, the Provincial and Municipal Task Forces to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) of Laoang, Northern Samar, organized the 21st Kauswagan Caravan in Brgy. Catigbian, Laoang, Northern Samar on Thursday, February 29, 2024.
Led by Governor Edwin M. Ongchuan of Northern Samar and Brigadier General Efren F Morados PA, Commander of the 803rd “Peacemaker” Brigade, the initiative aimed to provide essential medical and basic services to the community.
The event saw the collaboration of Lieutenant Colonel Marvin A Maraggun and the 19th Infantry Battalion, as well as Peace Law Enforcement and Development Support (PLEDS) Clusters, along with various governmental and private agencies in the province.
“Kaupod an sundalo ngan mga kapulisan pati an iba na ahensya san aton gobyerno, padayon kami na maghahatag san serbisyo, padayon kami makadi sa iyo para mas maipaangbit sa iyo na an gobyerno san Norte san Samar yadi la kaupod niyo sa pag uswag ngan kakadtuon kamo bisan pa sa nanu kahirayo san iyo barangay,” Governor Ongchuan expressed to the Laoanganon.
Six Barangays in Laoang, Northern Samar, namely Brgy. Catigbian, Yabyaban, Palmera, Gibatangan, Cabulaloan, and Sibunot, were beneficiaries of the event, with residents expressing gratitude for the combined efforts of governmental and private agencies, showcasing the spirit of bayanihan.
The success of the activity underscores the importance of collaboration among various agencies and the dedication of compassionate individuals, whose service is vital for the community’s well-being.
