MANILA-Leaders from various environmental and cause-oriented organizations denounced the national government’s alleged continued support for coal fuel projects in the country ahead of the Global Week of Action, which calls for the end of fossil fuels across the world, from September 13-20, 2024.
The groups said over 100 climate marches and actions are planned globally, explicitly calling for an end to fossil fuels ahead of the United Nations Summit of the Future in New York and the COP29 Summit in November.
The multisectoral group leaders gave the announcement on September 11, 2024 during a press conference in Quezon City.
