CATBALOGAN CITY – As a highlight of Catbalogan City’s 17th Charter Day Celebration on June 16, at least 4,518 job vacancies will be available to residents during the Job and Service Fair at the Tandaya Hall, Samar Provincial Covered Court, on June 14, 2024.
Mayor Dexter Uy announced that several local and international companies have listed job vacancies. The Catbalogan City Employment Service Office also revealed that CNT International Manpower Agency, Inc. is seeking 100 registered nurses for positions in the United States of America (USA).
In support of the Job and Service Fair 2024, the Overseas Worker Welfare Administration (OWWA) will offer real-time processing for OWWA membership and provide a range of essential services tailored to overseas workers, referred to as “overseas heroes.”

Job seekers are advised to arrive at Tandaya Hall, Samar Provincial Covered Court in Catbalogan City between 8 AM and 5 PM on June 14 for interviews and submission of the following documents:
For pre-registered applicants: Pre-Registered Stub, Resumé, Ballpen, School Credentials, and other pertinent documents related to the job application process such as Application Letter, Resumé for Local Agencies or Notarized Personal Data Sheet (S. 2017) for Government Agencies, Transcript of Records for College Graduates, Diploma for High School Graduates, Certificates of Employment (if available), and TESDA Certificates of Training.
Walk-in applicants with documents are also accepted, according to the PESO office.
Mayor Uy emphasized that these job opportunities are aligned with the No. 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations. These goals include eradicating poverty and hunger, promoting good health and well-being, and ensuring decent work and economic growth.
The city’s initiative aims to reduce unemployment and improve the quality of life for its residents, contributing to broader global efforts for sustainable development.
