DepEd Leyte Battles for EVRAA Supremacy in Final Stretch

TACLOBAN CITY – Leyte Division Superintendent Dr. Mariza Magan inspired the Roaring Lions athletic team to reclaim the championship title as the 2025 Eastern Visayas Regional Athletic Association (EVRAA) Meet entered its final leg in Tacloban City on March 5.

Magan personally supervised the monitoring and preparation of the Roaring Lions delegation, ensuring their safety and convenience at their billeting area in Kapangian Central School in Tacloban.

“As you embark on the final leg, remember that you are not just representing your division but also your families, schools, and communities. Let the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie guide you,” Magan urged the athletes.

During a meet-and-greet with the athletes and coaches, she was accompanied by Assistant Schools Division Superintendents Atty. Calick Arrieta and Teodorico Peliño Jr., School Governance and Operations Division (SGOD) Chief Gil Esplanada, and other top division officials.

“Give it your all, leave everything on the field, and make us proud! Go for gold and reclaim the championship title. May you return home victorious and proud,” she added, extending her best wishes and prayers for their success.

She also acknowledged the support of Leyte Governor Jericho Petilla and other local officials in bolstering the delegation’s efforts.

As of March 6, Leyte had secured a total of 49 medals, including 14 gold, 17 silver, and 18 bronze. (Photos/Text by Leyte Light)
